Fertiliser is key to ecological agriculture.

ReFood produces over 150,000 tonnes of high-quality fertiliser for agricultural use each year.
Compared to mineral fertilisers, the fermentation product from our biogas plants is highly sustainable: no energy or scarce raw materials such as phosphorus are used to produce our high-quality fertiliser, marketed under the DynAgro name. Because ReFood biogas plants ferment food waste, applying it to fields closes the nutrient cycle by returning important nutrients to the soil.
The benefits of DynAgro
Container and field trials in conjunction with the Thüringen regional office of agriculture (TLL), the Agricultural Analysis and Research Institute (LUFA) in Rostock and the University of Rostock have confirmed DynAgro’s excellent fertilising effect. Our product has many advantages for farmers:
- DynAgro is an important source of the macronutrients nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium as well as trace elements. The fermentation product is therefore an ideal fertiliser for soil. Thanks to the buffer capacity of the soil, the high proportion of ammoniacal nitrogen provides a long-term supply of nitrogen.
- Due to its low viscosity, DynAgro quickly reaches the roots.
- DynAgro is cheaper than comparable mineral fertilisers and is also sustainable and environmentally friendly.
- ReFood has a flexible ordering policy, including customized deliveries and any quantity.
The RAL seal of quality
ReFood has been a member of the Bundesgütegemeinschaft Kompost e.V. (BGK; Compost Quality Assurance Organisation) since 2008. In addition to inspections by our own ReFood experts, the BGK monitors the quality of ReFood fertilisers with regard to their nutritional composition and lack of pollutants. The BGK has confirmed the high quality and cost-effectiveness of DynAgro by issuing the RAL seal of quality.
