Fuel from used frying fats.

Our sister company ecoMotion’s production facility in Lünen.
Our sister company ecoMotion uses the cooking oil that ReFood collects from its customers as the basic material to produce what is probably the most environmentally friendly and sustainable biodiesel currently being produced on an industrial scale. At its locations in Lünen (North-Rhine Westphalia) and Sternberg and Malchin (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania), more than 200,000 tonnes of sustainable biofuels are produced each year based on animal fats and vegetable oils such as used cooking oil and frying fats.
Great ratings for biofuels
Research findings show that biodiesel made from treated, used cooking oil and frying fats achieves CO2 savings of up to 83 per cent compared to fossil fuels. That is twice as much as for conventional plant-based biodiesel. The European Union has recognised this fact by adopting this figure as the standard value in its Renewable Energy Directive.
